At Palm Springs Limousine Services, we have been offering exemplary and luxurious transportation to the Coachella Valley for years. One thing we get loads of questions about, from tourists and local residents alike, are inquiries regarding the number of celebs residing in the region. Once home to three U.S. Presidents, additional presidents have vacationed here through the years. In this article, our limo services will highlight some of the most notable presidential history found in town. From Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama – here is a quick overlook of the city’s famous connections to the White House.
Dwight Eisenhower
Honored at Walk of Stars, General “Ike” Eisenhower was a passionate golfer said to have played a hundred rounds of golf per year. Bringing his passion for golf to the desert in the 50s, Coachella Valley quickly emerged as one of the president’s most favored destinations. Eisenhower later purchased a home at Eldorado Country Club in Indian Wells, becoming a local resident eligible to receive his own star on Palm Canyon Dr. Visiting the celebrities’ stars on this street has become one of our most booked Limousine excursions. Whether by limo services or not, make sure to check out these famed, embedded bronze stars.
Gerald Ford
Gerald Ford passed away at his Rancho Mirage estate.
Homeowners in Rancho Mirage since the late 70s, both Gerald- and Betty Ford are recognized at Palm Springs Walk of Fame. After living in the city for decades, the former president passed away at his house in 2006, 93 years old. Their Thunderbird estate complete with Palm-lined gardens overlooks one of Ford’s favorite golf courses. With no less than 6 bedrooms in an over 6,300 sq. ft. mansion, the ranch-style house was equipped with a private swimming pool and surrounding fountains. Attracted to the region due to its brilliant climate, world-renowned sports, and natural springs, the Fords first settled here in 1978.
Ronald Reagan
A regular visitor, Reagan vacationed in town both as Governor and Commander in Chief. Often observed golfing at the Annenberg Estate in Rancho Mirage, Reagan would also pay visits to local resident Frank Sinatra. The Reagans later purchased a villa near the Movie Colony. Besides frequently seen golfing, Reagan was regularly visiting Sunnylands. Limos to Reagan’s favorite hangout spots are common and in high demand. Limousines are weekly scheduled for celebrity tours in adjacent communities. Book your limousine today and let the adventure begin!
